Felix

Félix, a wine in the Ultra Premium category, is a tribute to the founder of Viña Santa Ema, Félix Pavone Arbea. This wine is a blend sourced from the high-altitude vineyards of Maipo Alto and is produced using meticulous winemaking techniques. It is an exclusive wine where Cabernet Franc takes center stage, followed by Carignan, Carmenere, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Félix represents the strength of Santa Ema’s origins.

CHARACTERISTICS

An exclusive blend from high-altitude vineyards in Maipo Alto, Pirque.

This wine complements the renowned Ultra Premium Catalina.

The wine is composed of: 75% Cabernet Franc, 10% Carignan, 10% Carmenere, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Crafted using meticulous techniques aimed at maximizing the potential each variety destined for this wine can offer.

After vinification, the wines have been aged in barrels for the Cabernet Franc and Carignan varieties, concrete eggs for the Carmenere variety, and large wooden casks for the Cabernet Sauvignon variety.

Production of 7000 bottles.

Terroir

LOCATION:

Pirque, Fundo Cerro Blanco. Slopes of the Andes Mountains.

ELEVATION:

1,000 m above sea level.

CLIMATE:

Principally Mediterranean with dry periods, then rains concentrated in a period of 9 months, summers with large diurnal temperatures, up to 25ºC, allowing for the creation of significant levels of phenolic compounds.

SOILS:

Colluvial. Low fertility with angular rocks and gravel that are irrigated by the waters of the Maipo River, rich in iron and phosphates that lend great character to the grapes.

PRODUCTION:

3,400 cases of 9L.

DENSITY OF PLANTING:

5,000 plants/ha. Year planted: 2005.

HARVEST:

Beginning of April.
